folds and pleats
Hi everyone,
The following is a briefing to what was said in class last Monday.
Folds can be inspirational and can be of inspirational means in the development of a design rather than using it as a physical model to display the end product. Folding and its inspirational elements were widely used mostly in the 20th Century and were influenced by various philosophers mainly Deleuze and Guattari.
Folding has four design generator transitions:

Folding has four design generator transitions:
- Matter and Function (all kinds of twist and folds, wraps, presses, pleats etc)
- Algorithms (A step by step solving procedure)
- Spatial organisational and structural (creating a space/volume, introducing topology/ tessellation)
- Prototype (the end product / 3D substance)
These are my paper folds that were experimented in class.
